Movie Review : Don’t Breathe

Don’t Breathe is one of the rare movie which grabs your attention just by the trailer itself.

The film is the story of three burglars, plans to get into the house of an old army veteran, who is blind, leaving in a remote location of the town with no neighbors around, to steal the money he has received as the compensation of his daughter’s death.

Sounds like the easiest job of their life. But things get really nasty when the group realizes that blind man is not the defense less at all.

The biggest quality film have is the layers that have been added to it. The moment, you feel this can not get scarier, director shifts the gear and introduces something new which freaks you out and make the premise even darker. The director also plays with the characterization which is carried out perfectly at most of the time. Don’t Breathe is undoubtedly one of the scariest film I have ever seen, having all the scare tactics executed with the top notched perfection. I was at the edge of my seat through out the entire run time.

The film is also elevated by the acting performance of the cast. Also, sound, cinematography and editing works together perfectly to create an absolute precise environment required for such film.

On the negative side though, some characters and event that had happened to them seems forced.

My rating for Don’t Breathe is 4.44/5. Go ahead and check it out, but don’t forget to breathe.
